Wedding Planning & Coordination

Wedding Planner in the Poconos

The Poconos are a favorite for weekend weddings, and guests often travel in from Philadelphia, New York City and beyond. I’m Danielle, and I work with couples up to three hours from Scranton, including the Pocono Mountains.

Destination-style weddings come with extra moving parts: welcome events, guest travel, lodging and a weekend-long timeline. I can take on full planning, day-of coordination, or the celebrations around the big day, like the shower, bachelorette or rehearsal dinner.

Pocono Venues to Know

Two Pocono venues known for weekend-style celebrations, with planning notes.

The Stroudsmoor

Stroudsburg

  • A 200-acre mountaintop estate in the Poconos
  • Three distinct wedding venues: Terraview, Ridgecrest and Woodsgate
  • Part of the Wedgewood Weddings family, with up to 350 guests

Planner’s note: Large estates with several venues have their own planning teams. Personal day-of support for the couple and the bridal party, and planning for showers, the bachelorette or the rehearsal dinner, sit alongside that.

Sylvan Ridge Farm

Milford

  • 200 private acres overlooking the Delaware River Valley
  • An Amish-built wedding barn with indoor and outdoor spaces
  • Full-weekend weddings that include professional coordination and overnight accommodation, about 10 minutes from I-84

Planner’s note: Weekend-long weddings are a great fit for celebrations around the main event: welcome gatherings, a rehearsal dinner or a farewell brunch.

Tips for a Poconos Wedding

  • Send travel details early: driving directions, transit options and room blocks help out-of-town guests plan.
  • Plan the whole weekend, not just the day: a welcome gathering, the rehearsal dinner and a farewell brunch each need their own timeline.
  • Mountain weather can change quickly, so a solid backup plan for outdoor moments matters.
  • Ask every venue what’s included and what you bring in (catering, rentals, bar, decor), plus its rules on outside vendors, candles and end times.
  • Have a rain plan for any outdoor ceremony, and agree on when the weather call will be made.
  • Build buffer time into the timeline for photos, travel between ceremony and reception, and hair and makeup.
  • Share one master timeline and vendor contact sheet with every vendor in the final weeks.
